Thanks to you who answered God’s call for Ark needs in January and February: Continuing gratitude for our prayer warriors who daily intercede for our work. Thank you to our regular and extra financial donors who have kept us going during the pandemic and extreme cold of this winter. Special thanks to the restaurants and grocers for food that, for example, allows us to feed a woman and her 9 children for 2 weeks while being evicted. We appreciate those of you who are sewing and knitting warm clothes for people who are cold and those who are quilting and embroidering the children’s clothing we give away with school supplies. The Ark exists because of our Triune God and EACH of you – all ethnicities, cultures, skills, talents, gifts, and prayers. We thank you for your dedication to do the Matthew 25:35-40 work of caring for our neighbors as if doing it for our Savior.
December 2020 Thanks
Thanks to you who answered God’s call for Ark needs in December: Many thanks to our prayer warriors who commit to daily intercession for our work. Our thanks also to those donors who have recommitted time and funds to support our mission. We are grateful for our essential workers who set up, cook, serve meals, clean, and maintain the facility to assure we can help those in need. The generosity of the community of Muskogee assured we could serve Christmas food for our homeless participants all day. You brought ham, turkey, dressing, gravy, potatoes, green beans, salads, desserts, breads, and gifts. People who are homeless could take a meal early and another later in the day. It’s been such joy to know each of you give your best so our homeless friends can eat until FULL! We appreciate the participants who take on tasks like clearing away after meals, sanitizing seats and fixtures, preparing the newsletter mailings, and generally volunteering to help keep things running in safe, healthy ways. Thanks to Dr. Steven Fry and friends for the shipment of masks and to the anonymous donors of hygiene supplies, tithes at the first of the month and a collective $3300 for Christmas. Heartfelt thanks to long-time friends for the blankets and quilts. Our annual appreciation of Muskogee Police Department for Christmas bikes and backpacks for the homeless. Our gratitude also to our volunteer staff and Board who recommitted to work another year with no earthly reward. The Ark exists because of our Triune God and EACH of you – all ethnicities, cultures, skills, talents, gifts, and prayers. We thank you for your dedication to do the Matthew 25:35-40 work of caring for our neighbors as if doing it for our Savior.
NOTE:
Thanks to everyone for wearing masks and cooperating with our safety precautions!
November 2020 Thanks
Thanks to you who answered God’s call for Ark needs in November: We appreciate our dear friend, a recent widow, for donating much needed men’s clothing. To Joe and Corieta Strickland, we join a family of three generations in gratitude, from the bottom of our hearts, for the house you provided.
Many thanks to Cathy Spaulding, Muskogee Phoenix, for the November 13th article about our holiday needs. We thank the Ray’s House volunteers who mowed our lawn, the Lion’s and Rotary Clubs, and local grocery stores that assured we had food and supplies to give to those in need due to the pandemic. To several donors who asked to remain anonymous we appreciate the funds for maintaining our building and programs and Christmas gifts for veterans.
Blessings to Jim Dum for the turkeys, and to our longtime friends and supporters for sweet potatoes, dressing, and green beans for Thanksgiving dinner. Although we were sorry to change the day of celebration due to pandemic restrictions, we were grateful to be able to serve meals to 9 participants at a time as we rotated throughout the day who all helped clean and sanitize for the next 9 coming. The Ark exists because of our Triune God and EACH of you – all ethnicities, cultures, skills, talents, gifts, and prayers.
