FIRE, FLOOD, WIND, and RAIN!
Restoring the Ark at 401 E Broadway from the March 7 fire continues with complications. Insurance helps but much must be done and the claims pay out in small increments. Many needs are still being discovered – like the leaking glass ceiling and stained glass windows in the chapel.
Right now, we’re being told to stay out of the chapel. At the right time, we’ll be able to refinish and refurnish it. After recent storms, the Ark basement flooded again. In addition, the interim location at 429 E. Broadway lost part of its roof from the heavy winds, so we have had to delay moving in and operating there while we repair wind and water damage from that storm.
The Ark board is overseeing workers and volunteers at both locations. They work long hours to finish what they start and keep the buildings safe. People who are homeless are volunteering also to work with us. There is a constant need for trash to be put in dumpsters and hauled away, home repair-type skills, finances… Together in His love we all are maturing and you humble us with your generosity.
